le plus beau du quartier

This post will hopefully make up for the deviant one that precedes it.

For those of you who couldn't make it to the party, I thought you might like a little peek into our day with Little Curly Girl.

We had a grand time.

See for yourself.

Happy happy.

And someone else puts them on!
Looks like Option 3 is a go!

And here's the MTV version, with a little diva action in the middle.

Oh my, yes, there can be no doubt that trips to Paris will be part of the shared futures of you and Little Curly Girl. The two of you are just beginning a very special kind of relationship that will be a source of great wonder and joy for you both. It makes me smile to think of it.

I am anticipating a similar relationship with my soon-to-be born grandson. Yes, indeed!

okay, i just did a big catch-up read on my favorite blogging tango dancer. and i have many things to say:
1. your niece is an absolutely vision in orange. she's so beautiful and i love the montage you created.
2. i must argue for the case of TNG. the plotlines were just so much better....(i know you disagree, but that's okay. we can still be friends.)
3. i want to be carried in each and every one of the various vehicles you have mentioned. especially the rose float. if every where i went was atop a float of roses i wouldn't want to stop moving. most romantic. although cinderella's coach inspires a nostalgic chord and would be a most preferred mode of transport should the opportunity present itself.
4. wonderful posts, my dear....oh, and you may visit my sprawling mystery house where a special room will be dedicated to the beauty of the tango, just for you.

Hello there!

I just discovered you through the elementary, and what a wonderful discovery it has become!
Your blog is so funny and refreshing. Oh, and the chocolate easter bunny and snowglobe people? Brilliant.

I'm looking forward to coming back here again and again!
Nice to meet you xo

"Joyeux anniversaire" to precious Little Curly Girl! Lucky, lucky girl to have her aunt as a role model who will teach her the wonderments of the world through curious eyes with optimism and passion.

Your music choice of the video clip was "parfait".

Happy birthday wee one. And just look at those sweet little feet playing dress up.

It wouldn't be a good birthday party without a little melt-down. Feliz cumpli!

You know, as much as I love being a mother, there is a special and unique joy that being an aunt brings. I imagine it's quite a lot like being a grandma. All the pleasure and love and fun, without the stress or daily responsibilities. I just adore my neices. Of course, you know this already. It shines in your posts.

And GEEZ!!! THE SHOES!!!!!!!!!!! I am way past jealous. I wear a size 9 and can't wear spindly heels. Want to do some shopping for me.

Happy day!

Miss Fabulous lives up to her moniker! :-)

Bonjour la tanguerita,

Merci millefois! Elle est mon petit chérubin!

Hi upfromthedeep,

Thank you so much, and I'm sure your little grandson and you will have some splendid times together in years to come. Congratulations!

Hi Octavine,

I know you are very busy being delightfully creative! (which reminds me to check in with you, too!)

1. Thank you and isn't she just the cutest little muffin! thank you for watching the whole video without suffering from saccharine overload. Sometimes only family can watch such things...

2. I cannot talk to you about this, and yes, we are still friends. Star Trek was never about the plot for me. I was going to go off on a tangent right now, but I just stopped myself in time. Whew.

3. I think a vintagey Art Nouveau-inspired Octavine Illustration Rose Covered Parade Float should be a future project for you! What a glorious transport you could design AND ride in!

4. When can I move in?

As always, your visits to me are lovely!

Hello Jaime,

Welcome, and thank you! It's very nice to meet you too. I'm glad we share an admiration for TheElementary in common and I look forward to "seeing" more of you in the future.

;-)

Hello dutchbaby,

As soon as I saw that first photo of her in the sunglasses, that song immediately popped into my head.

I tell you, the French have it down. We got Laura Bush with her AquaNet hairdo. And they got a hot Italian supermodel who also has an international singing career and had a love child with Mick Jagger. Now *that's* my kind of First Lady.

Hi Annie,

And you know what, I didn't coach her at all about the shoes. (But inside my heart cheered.) You should see the photos I took of her with the makeup brushes. ;-)

It's all genetic!

Hi n a n c y,

Apparently, two-year old meltdowns at birthday parties also run in our family. My mom reminded me of mine (which I could not remember).

But I have to give the kid a lot of credit. She kept saying "nap, nap!" before her head exploded. She knew her limits. We just ignored them.

Hi Relyn,

Yes, I think part of the bonus is that you can show up and spoil them but not have to deal with the other parts, like discipline and manners. ;-)

I just want you to know that you and I wear the same shoe size, so go out and get some heels! Practice in these things makes perfect.

Hi Vanessa,

I was going to call her Baby Elton John because of the glasses but Miss Fabulous is almost the same thing!

;-)

What a doll!

tangobaby June 3, 2008 at 2:37 PM

And she can talk, too. A little talking doll. You would like her.

studio wellspring June 4, 2008 at 9:17 AM

such sweet adorableness from the curly girl & such innovative lovingness from her auntie. now i'm fully inspired to make one of these lil' photo collage videos for ilia's 2nd birthday too. is it alright if i copy you?

tangobaby June 4, 2008 at 11:00 AM

Hi Ms. Wellspring,

Little Curly Girl is just a full-time experience of emotions and excitement, so the telling of her special day ws pretty simple.

If you ever need help with your little movies, let me know. I don't know what program you have at home, but making these in iMovie is fun and a breeze.

I'm sure your sister and your family will love your movie creations!

paris parfait June 4, 2008 at 11:55 AM

Miss Fabulous is just TOO fabulous! Adorable photos. Such fun reading about your special relationship. How lucky is she to have you for an aunt! xoxox

tangobaby June 4, 2008 at 4:04 PM

Hi Paris Parfait,

I bet her mom might let us both borrow her once in a while. She might have a lot of fun with an Auntie Tara!

I'm so glad you're back near a computer. I missed you!
