I Couldn't Pick Just One!

I was sitting here listening to some tunes, getting ready to pick my winner of the giveaway of the photo I came up with this week.

I picked Starlene. Hooray! And she'd left me just the nicest comment so that made me happy. But then I wanted to pick another name... which I did... La Pianista! Hooray again!

I got on such a high from picking names that about four or five names into it I just decided I wanted to give each of you a photo. I couldn't pick you. You're all winners in my eyes.

***

So, here's the deal. I will send you a photo if you replied to the contest post by today:

1. EMAIL me your name and MAILING address and reconfirm your photo pick, or if you absolutely can't pick one, I'll pick one for you.
2. In the subject line of the email, type PICTURE GIVEAWAY so I can keep the emails straight and you don't get lost in the shuffle.
3. The email address is tangobaby2 AT gmail DOT com.
4. Be patient with me as I get these out... it might take me a little while.

***

Thanks again for your enthusiasm and for playing along with me. If you want to know what I was listening to while I was trying to choose a name, it was Paul Simon's "Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes."

People say she's crazy
She got diamonds on the soles of her shoes,
Well that's one way to lose these
Walking blues,
Diamonds on the soles of her shoes

I kind of feel like that girl, walking around town, being crazy lucky.

Great Kodachrome image from here.

What a sweetheart! I thought you would cave! Too much love and appreciation is impossible to resist! I'm going to ask for the 'wishing dandelion' up above, I just have to go verify the number.
Lots of air xxx's!

Just a quick note to say I am loving the new banner. I don't know you except through cyberspace, and yet . . . it seems to fit. That sly little look that says you know something we don't. At least not yet. You will tell us & leave us smiling & happy or perplexed & scratching our heads (Baconnaise, we will say to ourselves?), but always, always glad we came here.

OMG - So close! My word verification is fusking! :) Which actually sounds like it might be fun. "I'd Rather be Fusking".

Two things I want to say, TangoB:

One is that I am inexpressibly grateful for going the extra mile and choosing me. Thanks also for all the little things you've done and said in regards to both our blogs. These thanks are getting a little long-winded, but it's what I think. :)

Two is that I am also inexpressibly sad that I missed this post...thirty minutes after midnight! :(

I am curious to know what photo you would have picked for me, though, as I know I would have still remained indecisive. ;)

Dear La Pianista,

You're not too late, not too late at all. It's still friday where I am, so please do send me an email with your address if you want me to send you something.

xoxo

Do you mean an actual paper photo by the U.S. Postal Service? That's not what I was expecting. I had hoped for a high resolution jpg emailed to the winners and expected that they would take it to a lab if their printer was inadequate. That alone would be thoughtful and kind. And I certainly didn't expect that for everyone who responded. That's much too generous and I can't accept that as much as I appreciate the offer. If you're not careful you may restore in me just a tiny bit of hope for man and womankind. I thank you for your kind spirit.

Um, TB, sweetie... I don't quite know how to say this, but you ARE the girl with the diamonds on the soles of her shoes...

And thanks to you, I've now got this in my head:

http://www.last.fm/music/Paul+Simon/_/Kodachrome

Kodachrome
They give us those nice bright colors
They give us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world's a sunny day, Oh yeah
I got a Nikon camera
I love to take a photograph
So mama don't take my Kodachrome away

if that had been a photograph of the old surely expired film that you had taken yourself, i would be on the next plan to SF to steal it from you...

That song popped into my head the minute I saw the picture. i don't know if it is because I am old or blessed! :-)

La Pianista January 10, 2009 at 11:48 AM

Arg! Really missed it now...

Oh, well. It's hackneyed, but it really is the thought that counts. And a very pretty thought at that. :)

Well here I've been so busy trying to finally put something on my blog, I didn't even see this one until today (Saturday). So sorry! I'm so honored to be picked though...I must confess I'm one of those people that's never picked for anything so I honestly stared at screen for a second or two, thinking I must have misread it.

It's good to know one of my comments made you happy, although I'm not sure which one. The important thing is it did. ; )
