Proof of Fun

Thinking Outside the Frame, New Year's Eve 2009
Me and Chipmonkey

***

Aside from the fact that I'm starting to look like Bette Midler (not good), this photo really cracks me up (good).

Chipmonkey and I met through Flickr, and she is my little photo buddy and partner in crime when it comes to traipsing the city looking for things to take pictures of. She is a big fan of rust. We both go crazy for peeling paint.

She set up a photography studio in her apartment to take photos of all of her New Year's Eve guests, creatively using different sized frames as props, and I'm so glad that she's here in the photo with me instead of being the one behind the camera.

She makes me smile.

Proof of Fun.

I love peeling paint, too! Well, anything light and crinkly - it could be the plastic on new CDs for all I care. ;)

Damn thing is I thought my lust for rust was some sort of perversion....Happy New Year to my fellow rust lusters! C.S. Alexis

Such a quick wit! Bette Midler...I like to poke fun at myself too! Glad you have a photo buddy!
Friends, you can't beat em- I mean you could... but they wouldn't like it. :-)

THat is what life is about: friends and good times. The rest, it comes and goes and it is really of no importance. Love seeing you and seeing you so happy!

what a cute idea! I love the frames. You two look adorable.

Uncle Beefy January 2, 2009 at 11:23 AM

Oh, Miss Tango! Bette Midler? That's not a bad thing! Try looking like her uglier older sister Blanche! ;)

HAAAAAAAAAPPY NEW YEAR to you, m'dear! :)

What a SPLENDID idea! That is a great photo :)

Happy New Year! I love the picture of you two!

Since I happen to prefer the unconventional beauty of ladies such as the Divine Miss M, I'd say you're gorgeous. Especially in framed aqua. Great shot. Looks like a really fun party :-)

This is such a vibrant and fun shot! You're both cute thangs. : )

Great photo! And I don't see the resemblance to Bette (except maybe in the wit department). xoxox

Love the photo!

I am not that creative to have photos like that of all my guests too! I must seem soooo boring to the creative people of the world!

The picture is great. The two of your are styling. If you're not gonna have fun don't bother.

Gabby January 2, 2009 at 4:00 PM

well, not that it would make you feel better, but I've been told I looked like, at times, Dom Deluise (how unflattering can you get, Rob Reiner (fine with me), a biker from hell (maybe that's why people don't come right up to me and babies cry), and the Angel in a Pig's body. Now that one I can take. Plus, dear, if you can write like you do, take photos like you do, have fun like you do, fugem.

I wouldn't have even thought you looked anything like Bette Midler if you hadn't pointed it out goober! We'll all have to start calling you the Divine Miss T now... ;) That photo is great btw

What fun!!! Love your polka dress. Polka dots make me laugh (a celebratory laugh!). I had a white short sleeve green polka dot shirt back in the early 90's. One man shouted a rather insulting expletive at me for wearing it. I laughed it off. Polka dots can be menacing to some people!!!! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. BTW you are GORGEOUS!!!!

tangobaby I'm confused who' who? anyways you both look great!!

You do resemble Miss Bette but only in the best, most complimentary way. I, personally, love her so I'm a bit biased.

Relyn Lawson January 3, 2009 at 11:27 AM

Personally, I think you look more like the Divine Ms. Louise than the Divine Miss M. Either way is good though. I think Bette, as herself, is just gorgeous. I also really love the idea of the photo shoot. Are Chipmonkey's walls that yummy aqua? I am really loving that photo. So, when do I get to see the one of you and the boy?
