The Vatican, I don't thing so. At minimun the Vatican is a museum of some of the world's greatest antiquity and art. Charge admission, that's better than selling it off.

As an alternate, I'm for globally collecting every military gizmo, every ship tank fighter plane helmet and camo thingee there is and recycling them into useful stuff. In the US we send about 50% of the Federal budget on the military. That's a lot of cash - wonder why roads and schools are falling apart? Look no further.
