While in Babyville

We conducted our very important drawing today.

The drawing was supposed to happen last Friday, but when you're in Babyville, life happens at a different pace.

Luckily we had a crisp white chef's hat for the occasion.

And LCG chose very carefully that one special name out of the hat...

And the winner is...

Thank you for being part of our day!
It's time for grilled cheese and maybe a trip to the park before I have to go to the airport. So I'll catch up with you all later. But here's a little preview, and some songs and kisses.

Oh words fail me. What sweethearts. Kids are so amazing.
Sigh. Babies are so amazing.
My girls would get such a kick out of this, I may show them.
How was the grilled cheese? Yum!!
xo
Oh! Congrats to The Elementary!!!

Hurray! I'm so happy. I think it's a great idea- it will push you to the finish line for your book. Glad I could be part of it ;)
What a cute baby. She has a great talent in choosing names from hats ;)

The video is simply charming! Mama better watch out; some serious competition on the horizon!

Wonderful little cutie :-)

I am sure that the book is fabulous but the photos of the niece are utterly gorgeous. It's a good thing that I'm too old to have kids because I would be very inspired to try and add another delightful little girl to the gene pool. But I can't so can I be another honorary aunt? If you would agree, I would be very honored.

Nice to see you! I've been having trouble commenting as I can't get the typekey thing to work and cannot remember the passwords for the blogger! I miss the username/open url option!
Okay, I'll quit complaining. Glad you are well and having fun!

me again!
I just watched the video. Oh she is a doll! I think she may have sang "Happy Birthday" better than I did ;-)

I love how during twinkle twinkle the little guys on the tv behind her appear to be dancing to her singing!

Oh I missed you! And how adorable are those two munchkins! Although Little Miss Curly Girl may not be so thrilled when she's a teenager and finds the video. Then again, you may have launched her on the road to stardom! :) xoxox

@willow. Thanks! The in-person cuteness quotient was pretty overwhelming. Now I miss them terribly. I keep watching the video where LCG kisses her baby sister.

@Johanna, I'm sure my sister and her girlies thank you!

@Gillian. These little ones were truly a breath of fresh air and captivating. Watching that baby smile and sleep and holding her was the best vacation ever. I hope your girls enjoyed the little video.

I did not partake in the grilled cheese as I was still full from breakfast but Mommy makes it beautifully and cut into tiny squares for little hands and mouths.

@TheElementary: I know I'm supposed to be impartial but I was just so tickled that LCG picked you given our recent correspondance. That was quite a pick as that hat was full of possibilities!

@dutchbaby, I think my sister couldn't be happier to have such a great little helper. LCG is all about holding the baby, getting diapers, whatever she can do. It's incredibly adorable.

@Carol, Is Dylan looking for a girlfriend? ;-)

@namastenancy, holding a precious little baby just melts your heart. I am going to try to be the best auntie I can, and I'm sure when they come to visit, you're more than welcome to be an honorary Auntie and play with us. LCG is very artistic so you would enjoy that part of her.

@kath: I'm glad you watched the video. She became quite a little ham after the first few takes and I've spared you most of the lesser videos but I think it's fair to say that she greatly enjoyed "her closeups."

@Paris parfait: She's like the Second Coming of Shirley Temple. Seeing that her mom's been an actress (paid and trained, to boot) since the moment she could speak, I'm guessing that this performance is genetically inspired!

It's nice to be back and catching up with y'alls, although I had serious cuteness and baby-holding withdrawls today.

Lucky The Elementary! I know she will adore the book. Oh, LCG is so adorable. I just want to scoop her up and smother her little face with kisses.

Oh my goodness!!! What a delicious little one! You must have her cheeks worn out from pinching and kissing them!
