Ney and Jennifer!
I couldn't be in two places at once yesterday...but if I could have, I would have been enjoying Ney and Jennifer and their new studio downtown! Studio Tango Vida on Pacific Avenue in Nob Hill.
It's so exciting to have them here in SF, and in a beautiful new location that sounds perfect for them...and us!
Here's the link for you. From what I understand, they have a Comme Il Fauts shoe store, too. Oh my!

I can't wait to see your photos. From the way you described it, I felt like I was there!
Let's plan a date for next week. I can't wait to hear about your class yesterday.
;-)
Speaking of tango shoes... i wanna buy a pair of those. I've been postponing that. i haven't find anything i liked. Can you please give me a hand on that choice?
:-)
I'm wondering what would be your shoe taste for men... hehe
Best regards from portugal

Hi TB, how are you?
I stopped by the studio on Sunday and dare I say it, I really think it's the prettiest and coziest studio I've seen in the Bay Area. The floors are brand new, some kind of bamboo planks or something. Whatever, it feels great. If you're in SF it's well worth checking out.
Hello Zé,
Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I think shoe choices are so personal and subjective, truth be told.
It's funny to say, but when I first started dancing, I wore these really stupid, cheap ballroom shoes with a low heel. I didn't even know there was such a thing as a tango shoe. And months later I bought my first pair of Comme Il Fauts at a festival, and immediately my dancing improved.
It wasn't purely psychological--it was definitely due to the design and fit of my new shoe, even though the heels were a great deal higher than what I was used to wearing.
Now I own several pairs of CIFs, as well as NeoTangos, Darcos and Artesanal. However, I really have had to try on each pair before I purchased, because they are all so different: some pairs are perfect and others I cannot even get on my feet even though they are the same brand.
As far as the men's shoes, I know a lot of guys get their shoes from Tango Brujo. NeoTango makes men's shoes, as does Darcos. But I think you'll get more helpful advice from some of the male bloggers like Tango Pilgrim, Alex and Tangologue.
Good luck with your purchases. I know when you get your new shoes, you will be very happy.
Hi Malevito,
I'm okay, thanks for asking!
I saw Ms. Wellspring's photos yesterday and it does look like the nicest dance studio ever. I think that it has been home to a meditation/yoga environment for a while adds to its special vibe.
I hope they decide to add a milonga to their schedule.
ok ~ the post is up! now i hope it entices you to come visit with me soon. it's an easy trolley ride up the hill to the studio from work. ;o)
Tango AND a Cable Car?! How cool is THAT? Of course I am going. Just keep me away from the shoes if you can.
Can't wait to check out your post.
