Shuffle Off to Buffalo

A super fun scene that I never get tired of watching. The little part with Una Merkel and Ginger Rogers and their fruit eating is a pre-Code gem.

Now, I'm off to shuffle off to the Fillmore Street Fair. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

How do you always find the best old movies. Every time you mention a movie I head to my Netflix queue. I'm headed there now.

Because I/we are obsessed with great films (and I've seen 42nd Street several times)...

I'll be happy to make you a Netflix list, if you're really that interested in my taste and/or opinions!

(hmmm, is that a post in the making?)

BTW, if you haven't seen a Busby Berkeley film before, be sure to get The Golddiggers of 1933 on that list too!

This just reminded me, I'm actually picking up 'Top Hat' from the library tonight... I can't wait. I love it especially for the song 'Cheek to Cheek.'

Hi TheElementary,

I hope you enjoyed your night of watching Top Hat. A great film, too!

A bit different from the wacky showgirl extravaganzas like 42nd Street, but you can't get any smoother and charming than Fred Astaire.
