SF is full of champions

IMG_4785

Betcha didn't know that the current National YoYo Champion lives in SF.

Well, he does. And he's a great guy.

I don't know about you, but I was the kind of kid who used to nail myself in the head with my yoyo trying to do Around the World. Watching Joseph work his magic with TWO of 'em is pretty astounding and he never stops smiling.

And I never saw him hit himself in the head.
Check out YoYo Joe on i live here:SF.

I would also like to point out that the Renegades the official Drum and Bugle corps of San Francisco placed 6th place in the national Championships their highest placement ever as well as broke the 90 plane in scoring for the first time :-)

Nailed yourself, huh? I couldn't get my yo-you to do anything! It would just unroll and then lay on the ground, limp and useless. Joseph can smile AND work two of them. Now, that's utterly awesome. Another daily miracle bought to you by Tangobaby!

My yoyo's always broke. Half the time it was from swinging them so high the little string flew out of my hand and they landed somewhere particularly tough and broke, the other half the time it was because I would get so frustrated with it that I threw it...probably not the best way to deal with that sort of thing. Lol. Good thing I dont throw everything I get frustrated at now, my poor boyfriend would be black and blue!

Talented guy... Love the shot in the Flickr collection of the blurred strings making sort of dual S curves... Very cool...

i haven't been to comment on anyone's blog for over a week...but i was catching up on you(watching to see when the story of the century hits the streets of SF) in my feeds and i couldn't resist coming directly over here to tell you that; 1. you make me laugh out loud. 2. you make me smile ear to ear. 3. you are a great writer and that talent, although appreciated on your blog is not recognized for the professional potential it offers. you are a natural journalist. you have a great eye and pen hand ain't bad either!
bonking yourself in the head while doing around the world. that does explain a lot....

I wonder why they call it a yoyo?
It would be fun to see him do his magic!
