I Just Had a Baby!

At 11:19pm this evening, I just had my first child.

A 40-page photography book that I made myself.

With color and black and white plates, my beautiful baby measures 7 inches square and has a soft cover.

I haven't seen her in person yet, but I love her already.
(She ships in 7-10 days.)

***

I'll have more news on the delivery soon, when I receive my order and check her out to make sure that everything's the way it's supposed to be.

And then if you want to have one of my babies too, we can talk about that as well.

But for right now, I'm tired. This has been a labor of love and I'm ready to hit the hay.

Good night, my friends!

xoxo

You're going to sign mine, right? : )

Sallycat August 14, 2008 at 8:25 AM

Well, obviously you will deliver mine in person because the post is completely unreliable to Buenos Aires! I am inspired by your ACTION. My God, why can't I tackle my book dreams like that. At the moment I am only ever going to be a blogger!

Hugs, sal.x.

Well, Since the book it is about my hood, although on the opposite side, and I am truly impressed how it looks in your lenses, I will be delighted if I could order a copy of your baby as well. And congrats!!!!

Hi Margie,

I promise, you'll get the whole scoop as soon as I know what it is! Thank you for your enthusiastic support!

Hi Christina,

In shiny silver sparkly pen. What color you gonna sign MINE, sistah?

xoxo

Hi Sallycat,

You know I've always wanted to read your book (mine is much simpler, you just look at the pictures!) and the day you tell us your book is coming out, you know I will be snapping up my copy and cancelling all my plans for the night to read it.

Hugs received and returned with gusto.

Hi Elizabeth,

Once the ball got rolling (and I stopped procrastinating), it was fun!

Thank you!

Hi Mary-Laure,

From such a huge booklover as yourself, that means a lot. You know I want to read your book too. The Adventures of Mary-Laure!

Hi TP,

You are one of my special supporters and I am so excited for you to see this book, and hear what you think about it. Thank you for always being so generous and full of wisdom!

xoxo

Hi robin bird,

The book is going to be very colorful and finely trimmed. Yes, that's my girl! Yay!

Hi julochka,

You guessed it right...it's all about blurb. And when I have the book and can fairly evaluate the printing and the production values, I will be sure to tell you the rest of the story. But for right now, you can download the software for free at blurb.com and play with it yourself. See what happens!

Hi Willow,

7-10 days from now, I'll be sure to let you know! Hopefully good things. Thanks for visiting!

Hi Johanna,

Of course, you know just what to say to make me smile, don't you? xoxo

Hi Kath,

Thank you so much! Maybe you and Margie can work on your own, as a sisterly team. Now wouldn't that be a fun project? I bet it would

tangobaby August 14, 2008 at 6:44 PM

Margie! LOL!

Frankly, I'm too sleepy to write a post so I figured dress up the place a little bit.

Congratulations on your bebe to be Tangobaby!
I know she will be lovely! You must be redecorating your nest in order to make room for your wee one. She might turn out to be quite large you know.

If you can judge a book by its cover, then yours will be "Grand"! Congratulations, I'm looking forward to seeing it!

tangobaby August 15, 2008 at 10:44 AM

Hi Maryam,

It will especially when I get my first copy back. How is your book project coming along? I know it will be sensational.

Nice to see you here!

Hi sarah, my dear,

A signed copy...I think I can do that. Or meet you in Seward and give it to you there?

;-)

Hi rochambeau,

I think instead of it being a very big bebe, that it will be one of many! Like a brood of chicks. I must get over and visit you now...

Hi dutchbaby,

I think you will really enjoy this one. As you are one of my favorite book appreciating friends, I'll love for you to have a copy in your library.

:-)

tangobaby August 15, 2008 at 3:48 PM

Thank you, Lala!

I can assure you that mon petit chou is very colorful.

I just saw that photo you posted of your lemon merengue pie and now I am craving it. Yummmm.

My Castle in Spain August 15, 2008 at 4:51 PM

Thank you sweetie !

and i just read your comment on Frida K. and yes, you're absolutely right she underwent such pain from her physical condition. Unfortunately she fell in love with Diego Rivera who was quite a womanizer and cheated on her soon after they got married with her own sister. They broke up then made up. Sad story, this is why i admire all the more her energy and eagerness in art.

Can't wait to see your book !!!

tangobaby August 15, 2008 at 5:21 PM

Hi Lala,

Yes, it was very upsetting to read about the troubles in their marriage because she seemed to support him so much and her own talent was hidden in his shadow for so long.

I felt very sad for her.

Jaime August 15, 2008 at 6:18 PM

Relyn Lawson August 19, 2008 at 9:19 PM

Yeah! So glad to hear it! Blurb? Tell us more. At least, hurry and tell me more. Yes, selfish, I know.

tangobaby August 20, 2008 at 9:25 AM

Hi Jaime,

And thank you for coming back for the return visit. I'm glad you're finding lots of fun things to look at here. I hope I never run out of things to share.

It's nice to meet you, too!

Hi Psyche,

Thank you! This was fun "work."

Hi Relyn,

I'll let you know all about it soon soon soon. In fact, I'm supposed to get my book today! I can't wait to see it/her.

Yes, it's all about blurb. I am a Blurbarian. (That's what we're called.)
