It's Not All Boring

Today one of my work-related tasks is to find a Bedazzler. You'd be surprised to know this, but here in San Francisco they are not as common as one might think.

Actually, the task is not officially work-related but it does involve a co-worker so at least I can say I've done something productive today.

Do any of you guys know how to use a Bedazzler? I got a D in sewing.

Doesn't a Bedazzler work more or less like a stapler? I never had one, but I remember the commercials.

My favorite work-related errand recently was "having" to go to the discount fabric store. We did need decorations for an event, and I just decided that draping fabric would look nice ... and give me a reason to go fabric shopping ... ;)

I remember bedazzlers, but I never had one, just like I never had an easy bake oven. But I'm not bitter. Nor was I hard done by, I think our mom was just smart at passing over some of the gift requests that would require "refills" of some sort or another. It works like a stapler. There are a bunch on ebay, seem to be under $10.00.
What are you making?

I have looked all over hell and high water for a Bedazzler! My daughter wants one so bad...she remembers it from the 80's maybe. We went to craft stores (Michaels etc.) and they said it was no longer available. Hey, now I will look on Ebay. Thanks!

I love Bedazzlers! I still have one from the 80s... They are extremely easy -- as moderntanguera said, much like a stapler. If you are working in rhinestones be sure to buy appropriately sized backings.

Hello all,

I have a sad Bedazzler update. The project was deemed too controversial and even though I did find a Bedazzler, I now have to take it back because we are not going to use it.

However, I do have to let you know that you can buy them at Pearl's Art Supply here in SF, and if you go online you can buy them, too. They are not hard to find.

But KATH! Now you have got me all riled up about the Easy-Bake oven because actually I AM bitter about it and not having one in my youth, I guess I still have some tiny resentment about it, as well as not having the giant Barbie head with the makeup and the Etch-a-Sketch. You must be a better person than I am. I am going to have to get Toy Regression Therapy or some such thing.

So, does anyone want to buy my Bedazzler before I take it back to the store? ;-)
