Just Another Productive Day at Tangobaby Inc.

Well, almost. It's not like I have time to spare like this all the time, but today I decided to hunker down and cross some things off of my personal to-do list.

A few weeks ago, thanks to advice from the group message boards on flickr, I downloaded three trial software packages: Adobe's Lightroom 2 and Photoshop Elements, and Apple's Aperture. My brain hurts now, but the winner is...Lightroom 2.

Made some MOO cards, which I'm really excited about and which will be perfect for a blogger party I'm going to in a couple of weeks, just in case I need to hand out scads of tiny, cute cards.

One thing I am still futzing around with is where and how to display and someday sell my prints. I'm almost there, and still evaluating this site. This is a test site and I'm having prints made to see how they turn out, but if you're just hanging out and want to see what I have so far, click here:

And just a gentle reminder that there's one week left to preorder my book at a discount. The last day to preorder will be Saturday, September 20. Of course the book will still be available through blurb.com, but this way you get a discount and I can sign it for you, too.

Hope you guys are enjoying your weekend!

xoxo

I've checked the link out, it looks very promising and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your photography on there :-)

I wish I could find the time to go through all those programs - am so glad you're doing it for me and can make suggestions! Can't wait to see your prints ready for sale. Missed you and will email you later. xoxox

Wow! I'm impressed!! Your zenfolio page is fabulous.

I like the zenfolio site. It was easy to get around in and quick to load.
I want MOO cards ... what a great idea. But who would I give them to?

Wow! You go girl! Your photos look fab on that site. May you sell many.

Thanks to your gentle, caring and most welcome 'pushing and shoving', I am enjoying sharing a few pictures on JPG, as you know, and I am now longing to take a few more pictures of my particular journey.
So know that you have inspired me to explore my world a little more.

And in two days I will be opening what I think will be your first book to arrive in Buenos Aires, and loving it.
How fantastic is that?

Have a great week tangobaby.
Keep inspiring me!

Hi carol,

I keep adding more, so keep checking back. I love the black background and the slide show.

I feel like my photos are so "grown up" now.

Hi vanessa,

Can't quit the day job yet, but thank you! At least I am keeping myself entertained.

Hi paris parfait,

You still might want to do your own evaluation because they are all quite different programs (Elements being a kinder, gentler, less scary version of Photoshop and the other two programs are definitely more geared to photo editing and management) and you might have different needs and preferences than I do.

Downloading the software for free trials lets you really get a feel for them so you don't have buyer's remorse later.

Welcome home!

xoxo

Hi willow,

Thanks! I am really getting the hang of this site and will keep adding more photos that are worthy.

Hi kath,

You can get a 2-week free trial to see if you like it... and about the MOO cards, it's like this: if you have them, then all of a sudden I bet you'll find people to give them out to! It works like that.

They are super cute. Treat yourself. You have lots of pretty photos.

Hi sallycat,

Even if I don't sell any photos (although that would be nice!), just seeing them displayed like that makes me so happy.

I can't wait until you get your book! I just can't wait!

Keep taking your photos too, and sharing them with us.

xoxo

Hi Lala,

Oh, those are two of my favorites, too. Wait, what am I saying? I love them all!

No, really. Those are awesome photos, if I do say so myself. (pat pat). Keep on the lookout for more...as I'll keep adding them. And thank you!

Hi christina,

I just got my MOO cards and they are very cute. So cute that now I am not sure I will want to hand them out!

They're not too expensive, so treat yourself. You can send one to me, you know!

xoxo

Hi Christian,

I am trying to catch up too! Congrats on the new show...and I hope to see you soon!

p.s. although i love the zenfolio i wish the photos came up full size without first going into thumbnail mode. it would be more dramatic and easier to just get swept off your visual feet...no extra clicking you know... did you know that you have less than 5 seconds of someone's attention on your website before them to make a decision to stay or leave?
that's some important marketing info that joe read and passed on to me. it makes perfect sense and seems true...
