Just Because You Might Never See This on the Evening News

There were two rallies today in Anchorage, AK. One to welcome home the Republican Vice Presidential candidate, and one...to not.

I think you'll find that there are many many many many news items that the mainstream media can't or will not cover, so read these posts and you can see for yourself. This race is far from over.

***

A photo from a blogger who "infiltrated" the "well attended" official rally for Palin. You be the judge.

Think they had room for a few thousand more in there? Read her post and see more photos here.

And from the Alaska Women Reject Palin rally outside.

More photos here.
And even more here.

Palin made it pretty clear about what she thinks of San Francisco in her speech at the RNC, but it looks like we're not the only people who don't fit into her ideology. She's got a whole bunch of them right on her own doorstep.

Wow, they were just overflowing in that room huh *lol*

It's so promising to see that people are coming out against her.

Oh I had the same link from Mudflats and used some of his photos. Yes, you can bet the McCain campaign wasn't courting publicity with all those Alaskan women opposed to the REAL Sarah Palin.! xoxox

Even though we disagree politically (uh-oh! I'm admitting it!) I must say that the sign that read "the Alaska Disasta'" was INSPIRED! Somebody hit just the right tone - funny, not mean, but getting their opinion across. A positive sign (pun intended).

Thanks for linking to my photos! Keep up the good work spreading the news that the MSM won't. I was interviewed by CNN at the rally, but haven't heard anything yet on TV.

why does the media only cover parts of the stories? are they being bought out too?
did you see the snl skit from this past saturday with palin & hillary in it? it was awesome!

Hi carol,

Yeah, seriously. The real issue is that the mainstream media (MSM, I'm learning the vernacular) just shows that Alaska is 100% behind this candidate, when that is not exactly the whole truth.

I don't know if there has ever been a time when the press was not entirely governed by commerical or governmental interests, or both, but at least we have the blogs to look for alternate sources of information now.

Hi julochka! Hi Bangkok!

I think the fallout from all of this (as per usual) is that everything is polarized (as per usual) and made into a culture war (as per usual) and leaves everyone running scared and basically just tired.

Isn't this making you tired? It sure does to me.

Hi paris parfait,

Yes, I was riveted to this post and also reading about that SOB radio announcer who gave out the private names of the organizers of the rally so people could call and leave them threatening messages. He's also the fat loser in one of the photos holding a sign that says "Alaska is not Frisco."

Gotta love that. It's just too bad that 99% of the US population won't even know there was a protest.

Let's hear it for CNN!

Hi debi,

Your comment here I find to be the reason why it is possible to work together and gain common ground. Now, if someone could just teach the politicians how?

;-)

Your bravery speaks volumes. Thank you.

Hi Mamadance,

Thank you for being there for those of us who feel quite helpless down here. We want all voices to be heard, not just the ones suitable for the pretend news that everyone's force fed.

Keep up the good work!

Hi Ms. Wellspring,

They only cover minute portions of the "news" because that is what the advertisers pay them to do. We actually pay for our own censorship in this country. See what capitalism can do for free speech? Amazing, isn't it.

Yes, The Boy and I enjoyed that skit before SNL took it off youtube. SNL, boy, they're tough too.
